Doctor says I have only 5 years to live - Actress Kemi Afolabi opens up on battle with Lupus
Doctors told actress Kemi Afolabi roughly 5 years to live, and she has already lived one year of that.
The actress was diagnosed with Lupus and stated that she has already spent a lot of money managing it because it cannot be cured.
Kemi emotionally stated to Chude Jideonwo that her doctor has instructed her to prepare for the worst.
She paraphrased what her doctor said: "Make sure you're with your family. At the very least, you have another five years."
When asked about the illness, she stated, "I suffer from lupus. It can't be cured. All you have to do now is take your prescription for the rest of your life."
She revealed that she spent N1.2 million on treatment, but it was ineffective.
She stated that she is in constant discomfort.
Lupus is an autoimmune illness in which the immune system targets the body's own tissues and organs. There is no cure for it; it can only be managed.
Selena Gomez, an American singer, has been vocal about her lupus battle and had to undergo kidney transplant surgery years ago due to lupus complications.
